How far along?
26 weeks, 5 days today!
2nd!
How many days until my due date?
64 days to 36 weeks
How big are the babies?
The babies are the size of a zucchini!
I've gained 22 pounds total
What milestones did the babies reach this week?
The network of nerves in the boys' ears are better developed and more sensitive than before. They are able to hear my voice and their daddies voice! They are inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid. These so-called breathing movements are essential for the development of their lungs. These are also good practices for when they are born and take their first gulp of air. They are continuing to put on fat. They are supposed to weigh 1 2/3 pounds, but our boys are weighing in at over 2 pounds! They are roughly 14 inches long.
Pregnancy symptoms?
Heartburn/Acid Reflux. Out of breath easily. When I lay down at night my heart races and it takes a while for it to slow down. I have been having minor backaches, and leg cramp started a few nights ago. There are other things that I've experienced but I'm not going to share them on the blog. lol.
Cravings/Aversions?
Cravings this week: Jolly Rancher gummies, sweet tarts, chocolate chip frappe from McDonalds.
No Aversions.
Sleep?
Sleeping ok. My hips get sore and pop when I turn over.
Belly Button?
It's still there but not popped out yet.
Wedding rings on or off?
On!
Swelling?
No major swelling. I feel like my face has gotten fatter though.
Labor signs?
None!
Dreams?
I dreamed I was grocery shopping and the only thing I could see on the shelves down each aisle was milk.
Best moment of the week?
Feeling the babies move all the time. Putting up Christmas décor...yes I'm doing it early. Getting our maternity pictures taken by Lyndsey Portell! She is amazing and has such a gift from God in photography! The pictures will be coming soon on the blog! Here are a couple sneak peeks...
What I'm loving?
Putting up my Christmas décor. Two reasons...I LOVE Christmas. It makes everything brighter. And we are that much closer to meeting these two handsome boys of ours.
What I miss?
Just being "normal" lol. I'm excited that I feel a little more normal because I shopped in the buckle this past week!
What I'm looking forward to?
Seeing more of our pictures! Our baby shower is Sunday! How surreal that moment will be! We've waited three long years to have our pictures done and have a baby shower for our not one baby but double blessing of two!
What emotions have I experienced this week?
Excitement. I love the holidays.
Boys, Girls, or Both?
BOYS!!!! Liam Alexander Politte & Asher Matthew Politte
All the time. Kicking and punching me or each other lol. It's pretty funny when we go places and I sit down and you can visibly see them doing their thing.
Stretch marks?
None yet!!! I'm hoping lathering up with this tummy butter and cocoa butter lotion will work wonders!
What has daddy been up to this week?
Jared has been helping me with all of the Christmas décor. He's the best. I think he is finally starting to realize how close we are getting to the end.
When do I think I will go into labor?
My doctor told me this week he thinks at this point everything is looking good for me to make it to 36 weeks! Jan. 11, 2014. So looks like we will have a baby by then!
Nesting?
Not to much. Buying baby stuff as usual! I've started washing baby clothes and getting my hospital stuff bought. You have to have new clothes for the hospital right!?
Devotional from the book, "Expecting Praying for your Child's Development Body & Soul": Image of God: Face
"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness." -Genesis 1:26
Lord, according to the "experts," my baby's face has assumed the appearance of a full-term infant at birth. The face they have now is the face they will have when they are born. I'm so thankful for the technology of 4-D ultrasounds, but I want to meet them face-to-face. I know my children will be beautiful to me. But more importantly, they will be beautiful to you, because you created them in your own image. I don't pretend to know all that that means, but what an amazing thing. We were created in your image. They might look like me or their dad, but the key to fulfilling life is to resemble you. Help them to follow after you all of their days, to want to imitate you, to grow more and more like you. Help them to live their life like one made in God's image. And continue to show them every day what that will look like.
