I Love My Bump: Week 15

Week 15 is here!! I went to the baby doctor yesterday and everything is looking great! I can't believe I'm almost halfway through!

How far along?
15 weeks, 3 days!

Trimester?
2nd!

How many days until my due date?
172

How big are the babies?
The babies are the size of an orange!

Weight gain?
I went to the doctor this week and I have gained a grand total of 8 pounds! Thankfully so far it's in my belly!

What milestones did the babies reach this week?
The babies are roughly measuring 4 inches from crown to rump and weigh approximately 2 1/2 ounces. They are busy moving amniotic fluid through the nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in the lungs begin to develop. The babies legs are growing longer than their arms now, and they can move their tiny joints and limbs. Their eyelids are still fused shut, but they can sense light. If we shine a flashlight at my tummy, they will move away from the beam. Their taste buds are also forming. They can demonstrate more purposeful movements, such as thumb sucking!

Pregnancy symptoms?
I can finally say that I'm feeling better! I had a couple of days were I didn't feel good at all this past weekend, but I think I was very worn down.

Cravings/Aversions?
Cravings this week so far have been tuna, rotel dip, and a decaf white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, which I was able to acquire!
Aversions...There are still some things, but for the most part I'm doing much better with food!

Sleep?
I take a while to fall asleep. I sleep well until 3:00AM. Then I am wide awake as if it's time to get up for the day! My hips hurt from laying on my sides since I'm not lying on my back. I fixed it last night however! After a lot of research on the internet on how to get more sleep when pregnant...I put a body pillow in between my legs so they were parallel to each other. And guess what? no hip pain and I was able to sleep through the night!

Belly Button?
My belly button has started to disappear lol.

Dreams?
I have had some crazy dreams up to this point. But a couple nights ago I dreamed someone broke into our house and stole all of my eye shadow. I was so upset and Jared and I tried chasing them down. And when we caught them, they had used all of my eye shadow!
A couple weeks ago, I dreamed that my grandma went to space in a rocket, and I was communicating with her through face time. She was doing flips and showing me what all she could do in space. haha.

Best moment of the week?
The best moment this week was going to my baby doctor and talking with him about how much weight I should gain total (25-35 pounds) much better than my other doctor who said gain up to 50! I was so relieved and feeling better after talking with Dr. Monterubio! I'm a lot more stress free right now!

What I'm loving?
I love that I'm buying lots of maternity clothes that are really cute! I love that I'm feeling better and actually have energy to clean my house, do laundry, and cook! I'm loving the cooler weather (even though this week is supposed to be a little hotter...) I love the cooler nights...fall is right around the corner. Fall is my favorite time of year!

What I'm looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to going to my other doctor next week!

What emotions have I experienced this week?
Not to many emotions this week. I've been the most relaxed and feeling better than I have been!

Boys, Girls, or Both?
BOYS!!!! Liam Alexander Politte & Asher Matthew Politte

Movement?
A little. I have felt flutters here and there.

Stretch marks?
None yet!!!

What has daddy been up to this week?
Jared has been reading up on baby books in the nursery. It's so cute. He read the book "Love You Forever" the other night and just sat in the chair and sobbed. If he's crying now, what will he do when he's reading to two precious babies!? Other than that he has been helping me around the house and we are co-cooking every night.

When do I think I will go into labor?
My doctor wants me to try and make it to 36 or 37 weeks. 36 weeks will be January 11, 2014 and 37 weeks will be January 18, 2014! So definitely before my due date, but still at a safe zone!

Nesting?
Still buying clothes!

Devotional from the book, "Expecting Praying for your Child's Development Body & Soul": Lifestyle: Digestive Glands "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." -1 Corinthians 10:31 Lord, my little ones' digestive glands are completely formed now. Oh, how I pray that every organ and gland continues to work perfectly. I so want my baby to have a healthy body, to eat healthy foods, to use nutrients efficiently, and to smoothly get rid of waste in their bodies that they don't need. Lord, you have provided us with so many delicious natural foods. I thank you for fresh fruits and vegetables, wholesome grains, and refreshing water to quench our thirst. I pray that my children will take their health seriously, and that they will be good stewards of the only bodies they will ever have. Help them to see food as something to be enjoyed, but more importantly, as a source of strength and nourishment. Help them to seek out the kinds of food that give them the energy they need to live up to their fullest potential.

Coming Soon...Liam Alexander & Asher Matthew Politte

Little Boys...
Popsicle kisses
and big bear hugs,
little red wagons
and jars full of bugs,
grass stains,
football games,
lots of toys,
oh the joys!

Can you believe it??? Two little boys! I always wanted at least one boy and got a double blessing of two!

We have known for a couple weeks that these two little miracles were boys. We kept it a secret for a while because it was nice us knowing before everyone else found out. We have had no secrets through this whole process, so this was our last chance. I didn't think I would post the pictures of the two boys on my blog (poor little things when they are older haha) but I decided I would. Here is the famous "potty shot"

Baby A

Baby B
We named the boys Liam Alexander & Asher Matthew! I have always loved Liam for the past couple years and Jared picked Asher. Their middle names are significant... Jared's middle name is Alexander and my brother's name was Matthew. I always wanted a boy because I wanted to be able to name him after my brother who passed away. It was very important to me and God definitely answered that prayer! I think Matthew would be proud!

We did a gender reveal...My grandma took the pictures and we sent them out to all of our family members and then it was posted on social media. Our families are so excited that they are boys and EVERYONE loves their names! I have heard that most of all, "Oh the names are beautiful names!" I would have to agree with that! :)

Proud Daddy!

Little Sister :)

I can't wait to meet the little precious, handsome, sweet, loving, baby boys! It won't be long!!! I can't wait to see Jared with two little boys. I am excited to watch him coach them in little league and basketball! I'm excited to see him hold two little bundles of joy that he will call his sons! What miracles from God!

Once upon a star filled sky I made a wish for you, not only did God send me one miracle, He sent me two!

I Love My Bump: Week 14

Week 14 is almost over and I'm getting ready to enter week 15...and Holy Stomach! It's like overnight it grew and fast! Depending on what I wear...it's not too bad lol. This time is really flying by! Each week that passes I'm like wow where did that week go?

How far along?
14 weeks, 3 days!

Trimester?
2nd!

How many days until my due date?
178

How big are the babies?
The babies are the size of a lemon!
Weight gain?
I have probably gained around 8 pounds?

What milestones did the babies reach this week?
Hair is starting to sprout on their heads, which is now the size of a gumball. The head is now in better proportion with their bodies. They are 3 1/2 inches long this week! Simple facial gestures may now be visible on an ultrasound; such as: grimacing, squinting, and frowning. They can now pee and suck their thumbs! Thanks to brain impulses, the twins facial muscles are getting a workout as tiny features form one expression after another. They can grasp now too! They are both starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy layer of hair, called lanugo, that covers their little bodies! Their liver starts making bile this week-a sign that it's doing it job! The spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells.

Pregnancy symptoms?
Tired.all.the.time. I don't know if this is a symptom, but I get weird tastes in my mouth after I eat and it literally makes me sick sometimes. So my go to and oddly enough makes me feel better is chewing cinnamon gum.

Cravings/Aversions?
I have craved and was able to eat a greek salad from Panera! Along with a turkey sandwich and two cinnamon crunch bagels. lol. I haven't really craved a whole lot this week. It's kind of random. I will just have a fleeting thought of, "Oh that sounds good!"
Aversions...roast beef, pork, hamburger. Just not feeling it!

Best moment of the week?
The best moment this week was def. cooking the first meal I've cooked in 14 weeks...well with the help of my husband! Also, seeing our little twins...nothing better than that!

What I'm loving?
I love just thinking about who they will look like and what their personalities will be. I'm loving shopping for baby clothes!!! I love walking past the nursery and just looking in and imagining what my life will be like in months from now. I actually really love wearing maternity clothes. Not only are they comfortable but they are cute (if you buy them at the right place!) But I'm also loving still being able to wear my jeans and most of my regular shirts! I'm loving the fact that I'm feeling a little better and I love the anticipation of wanting to know for 100% sure what we are having!

What I'm looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to going to the doctor in a week!!! And of course going shopping for maternity clothes and baby clothes!

What emotions have I experienced this week?
Not to many emotions this week. I've been the most relaxed and feeling better than I have been!

Boys, Girls, or Both?
Wait & See

Movement?
A little. I have felt flutters here and there.

Stretch marks?
None yet! I'm hoping it stays that way!

Nesting?
Still buying clothes!

Devotional from the book, "Expecting Praying for your Child's Development Body & Soul": Sexual Identity: Sex Organs "But at the beginning of creation God made them male and female." -Mark 10:6 Lord, the twins' sexual organs are fully differentiated now. Boy or girl?--one of pregnancy's most exciting questions. You chose our sex before the beginning of time, and our gender defines so much of life for us. It's an honor to be a woman, and my sexuality has never been as evident as now, when I'm blossoming with child. I pray that my twins will grow up to be completely content and confident in their sexual identity. If I'm carrying boys, may they embrace their masculinity and seek to become a strong but gentle man who brings honor and glory to his savior. If my twins are girls, may they rejoice in their womanhood and see it not as a burden or a weakness, but as a blessing and a joy. I will be thrilled with either one. (or one of each) Help me never to stereotype or put my children in a box, but lovingly encourage them to be exactly who you created them to be!

Summer Fun

Karsyn & Kaia came down for a visit this week! Boy am I tired! lol. We had a lot of fun and I was sad to see them go!

We played wiffle ball and Karsyn was wearing a bug band around her head and was carrying her bug spray around with her. These girls and bugs lol.

We went to Jared's parents farm and went swimming in the creek. The girls jumped off of a big rock that they call a cliff. lol

After all of the creek fun, they of course had to get manis and pedis. So Kaia and I got pedicures and Karsyn got a manicure!

We took the girls to the county fair...good culture shock for them! They had a good time and even convinced Jared, who is terrified of heights, to ride the Ferris Wheel with them. They tried winning a bunny but that didn't work out so well. We were going to watch the pig scramble until they heard the pigs squealing and we had to leave. Karsyn was determined to call PETA and report what was going on. lol.

We bought this game called "Fibber." Needless to say Kaia had the longest nose of us all!

And they discovered Grandma's face paint in the basement and had to have their faces painted!

We had a pretty eventful week!!

All About Your Daddy

Meeting the one who God has for you...

Your daddy then...
I met your daddy in high school. I knew of him before, but didn't start dating until my senior year. He was fun, outgoing, flirty, cute, and always made me laugh! God definitely had His hand on your dad and there is no doubt in my mind that God put us together for His purpose. We had lots of fun together, we went fishing, played sports, had bonfires, a couple proms, snow days, and movie nights. Your daddy was so good at basketball and I loved watching him play! Of course we had many bumps in the road...breakups and heartache. I knew it would all be worth it! Aside from the fun...your daddy was invited to Church by one of his friends on a Wednesday night. I was shocked to see him there. We talked about God and Church for a while...and after a few more visits to Church, your daddy gave his heart to God. That was one of the greatest moments of my life. I will never forget when he walked down the steps to our youth room and tears were just pouring out of his eyes. God is so good.

Your daddy now...
After many, many years of dating..6 years of dating..he asked me to marry him. It was one of the happiest days of my life! We started planning our dream wedding which happened on June 6, 2009 at 3:05 PM. I can't even explain the emotions that fell over me as I walked down that aisle to your dad. All of these years of praying and seeking a mate and God provided one for me in a big way. That man at the end of that aisle was the man that God had designed special for me and only me. Our long, bumpy journey led us to this incredible day that would lead us to forever. Then we decided to try for you. It took us a long 2 1/2 years but here we are... pregnant with TWINS! A double blessing that only God could give!
I love the saying, "The couples that are meant to be are the ones who go through everything that's designed to tear them apart and come out even stronger." It has been the story of our life! Your daddy is a strong man of God who is a wonderful provider for his family. He is loving, caring, smart, fun, hardworking, so incredibly smart, and confident. If I could've designed the man of my dreams...that would equal your daddy.

Your daddy in the future...
I am so excited to see your daddy hold you both for the first time. He has wanted a baby more than anything the past few years...and now it's happening. Daddy has been the best husband and has been taking care of me throughout the pregnancy. It's such a strong bond.
He will always be your strong hold and will always hold you up. He will teach you all of the things you need to know in life and most importantly he will teach you all about our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Daddy will always be there for you and will support you in all that you do in life. He only wants the best for you and will always be your daddy first. Even though he may be hard on you or punish you, that is his job. We are both responsible for you and how you are raised. Daddy has a hard job! You two are so lucky to have Jared as your daddy. We are so excited to enter this new phase of our life. We both can't wait to meet the two of you! Until then...we will be dreaming of you!

Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.
His descendants will be mighty on earth;
The generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches will be in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness;
He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
A good man deals graciously and lends;
He will guide his affairs with discretion.
-Psalm 112:1-5

I Love My Bump: Week 13

Whoop whoop...2nd Trimester is here!!!! I am soooo glad and hopefully will start feeling better!

How far along?
13 weeks 4 days!

Trimester?
2nd!

How many days until my due date?
185

How big are the babies?
The babies are the size of a peach!

Weight gain?
I have probably gained around 6 pounds maybe? I don't own a scale so I don't weigh myself until I go to the doctor. lol. My size 4 miss me's still fit. haha. So far the weight is in my belly.

What milestones did the babies reach this week?
I'm officially in the second trimester! The babies' vocal cord are developing, but will not produce sound for approx. 6 months. The pancreas is beginning to produce insulin, and the intestines move from inside the umbilical cord to their permanent home in the abdomen. Fingerprints have formed on the babies' tiny fingertips. Veins and organs are clearly visible through their still-thin skin. Their bodies are catching up with their over sized heads, which makes up just a third of their body size now. If they are girls, they now has more than 2 million eggs in their ovaries. AMAZING! They are now 3 inches long which is about the length of a pea pod!

Pregnancy symptoms?
I'm still sooo very tired. I'm guessing that will not be going away any time soon. I am still a frequent bathroom user. I know that will only be getting worse. It's funny before I was pregnant I never scoped out the bathroom everywhere I went. Other than that the nausea is getting better. I'm actually able to smell food again.

Cravings/Aversions?
I've been wanting to eat spaghetti o's allll the time! I stopped eating them though because of the sodium. I've craved red lobster Caesar salad which I can't eat, but Jared shared a few bites of his with me. I quit drinking soda for a year before I was even pregnant, and since I've been pregnant I crave Dr. Pepper all the time, but I don't give in! I have been craving laffy taffy sparkle cherry. It has to be the sparkle one! Those sprinkles just make that taffy so much better! I love eating a foot long subway melt with pepper jack cheese, mayo, onions, spinach, olives, pickles, green peppers, and vinegar! YUMM! I heat and toast it because I'm paranoid about eating lunch meat lol.

Aversions...roast beef, pork, hamburger...I wasn't a meat girl before I was pregnant, but it's like intolerable now! My poor husband!

Best moment of the week?
The best moment this week was def. trying to determine what the babies are for 100%! They are getting so big in there and it's amazing to see how much they change from week to week.

What I'm loving?
I'm loving buying baby clothes! It's so much fun and there are sooooooooo many cute baby clothes out there! I'm obsessed with Zulily!

What I'm looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to 16 weeks so we can check one last time what the genders are before we tell anyone! Also, going to the doctor in a couple weeks for my monthly appointment.

What emotions have I experienced this week?
I've been kind of emotional, but the biggest thing is really realizing how much our lives are going to change! I'm excited for the change, but at the same time we have just been a couple for so long that it's weird to think of that being different. I can't believe Jared and I have been together 10 years this year!

Boys, Girls, or Both?
Wait & See

Movement?
A little. I have felt flutters here and there. It's a very strange feeling! The way they perform acrobatics in there I'm sure that it won't be long before I really feel it!

Nesting?
Well if buying tons of baby clothes, diapers, and wipes counts for nesting?? haha

Devotional from the book, "Expecting Praying for your Child's Development Body & Soul":"Pleasant words are a honey-comb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." -Proverbs 16:24. Father, my two tiny babies' vocal cords are starting to develop this week. Six months from now, I'll hear those first loud cries--announcing their arrival into the world and assuring us they are healthy and strong. God, it won't be long before my little ones will be using those vocal cords to say their first words. And then there will be no stopping them! I can't imagine being the mother of two chatty toddlers, but I am looking forward to that day! Lord, I know they will repeat words they hear spoken around them. May my speech be lovely and pure, encouraging and never harsh. May the words of my mouth be pleasing in your sight! And may my little children seek to please you with every word they utter. Form these precious vocal cords wholly and completely, Lord. They will need them to sing your praises. Or at least make a joyful noise unto you all of their days.

Project Nursery!

Project Nursery was under way months ago...but I've been slowly adding to it and of course waiting until we find out the gender so that I can add some boy things or girly things or both?? I also need to add artwork to the walls...still looking for that!
I'm so happy with the way the nursery turned out. It looks better than I imagined it to. It's weird walking by the room each day and night. We find ourselves sitting in the glider just thinking about having two babies asleep in that bed! So here is the ALMOST finished nursery for Baby A & Baby B Politte!

Daddy putting the twinnies crib together! After a lot of research and talking to people about the crib situation, we decided to put them both together in one crib.

My grandma painted the room grey, the ceiling and one wall white, and my grandpa & daddy measured out the stripes for the wall!
I painted the stripes on the wall...that was about the only thing anyone would let me do. lol.

Jared's mom refinished my dresser and nightstand, and it turned out perfectly! I really love how bright the yellow is against the grey and light bedding we bought!

Just need the changing pad and accessories!
All I need is a lamp...still looking!

The bedding we got is from Pottery Barn Kids. I'm in love with it! It has little details on the quilt that pictures just can't justify. The crib skirt has grey and white stripes with polka dots at the bottom.

Our bookshelf came in this week. So daddy put it together and we put all of the twins' books on the shelf. It turned out really cute!

I really love the way everything looks! I just need two precious babies to put in here now!

The only thing I'm left with to do now is to organize the nursery closet for all of the adorable clothes they will have. And we are waiting until we announce the genders before I put up the wall art. Other than that it will be just tiny touches here and there. I want to get some things personalized as well. It's so exciting to have it all done and I am happy that it's ready to go. I hate procrastinating!!!! Obviously.
