Prenatal Appointment
After being released from Dr. J on July 1st, I had my first prenatal appointment with Dr. Monterubio! I'm excited to be going back to his office and to finally be one of the pregnant women sitting in the waiting room! Dr. Monterubio was excited to see me again! The nurse took my weight and measurements. Dr. Monterubio didn't do an ultrasound since Dr. J already did one a week ago, but he did use his Doppler machine to listen to the heartbeats. He was like a kid in a candy store listening to the heartbeat. He really loves his job!! After my exam I went into Dr. Monterubio's office and talked with him about everything from my next appointment to labor! I was glad to hear that his goal is to have a normal birth instead of a C-section. I thought I would automatically be signed up for one of those with twins. The goal is for me to make it to 36 weeks, 37 weeks being the most ideal. Ummm...that's four weeks early!!!! So that means from this day I have 6 months left!?? This is going to fly by!!! So my official due date is February 8, 2014. But if I make it to 36 weeks then the due date will be January 11, 2014! How exciting!! I can't believe it! I go back to see Dr. Monterubio on July 22! We will be doing blood work and going over weaning me off of my progesterone and estrogen patch. Dr. Monterubio wants me completely off of my medicine by 14 weeks. So we will start weaning at 12. I'm almost through my first trimester! I can't believe it! I'm so thankful for this journey and wonderful experience of being pregnant with two little miracles!

So in hearing my uterus will rapidly grow this week...we headed to the mall to buy some maternity clothes! Man oh man Destination Maternity has a lot of cute clothes that don't look frumpy!! I can't wait to wear all of my new clothes!

Arms & Legs, Oh My!
The most amazing moment happened today... we saw the babies moving around!! Their little arms and legs were going crazy kicking and punching. I was totally not expecting to see any of that and of course I cried!! It was so amazing to see our little babies looking like babies and not little round circles! God is so amazing! He created life so amazingly! I can't wait until our next ultrasound to see how much they've grown!
I'm beginning to wonder what gender they are??? Today the heartbeat of Baby A was 180 and Baby B was 175!!!
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
The fruit of the womb is a reward.4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

4th of July
| See my baby bump? |
The 4th of July was low key for us this year! My grandparents had a cookout and my dad, Jennifer, and Gavin came up to eat. We spent the day by the pool and preparing things for my Grandma's 70th birthday party this weekend!

A Day at the Zoo
Nursery Update
We went and picked up the babies changing table/dresser today at Jared's parents house! Jared's mom is a pro at refinishing furniture, so she gladly refinished my dresser that I've had since I was in middle school! It turned out beautiful!!! She is currently working on the nightstand to go by the chair! I can't wait to see it! More pics of the nursery to come...Yes it's ALMOST finished!!! Do you all know who I am? haha
It's Official
Well the doctor confirmed today that we are having TWINS! Yay!!! We got up excited and pumped to go to our first doctor's appointment and the whole way there I was wondering how fast the heartbeats would be today and how big they would be. I was excited to see Dr. J and the rest of the girls at the office and share the joyous news with them!
When we got to the office we chit chatted a bit and then went back to see the babies! My grandparents went with us because my grandma was on vacation and we planned to do a little shopping and go to the zoo for the day after the appointment. Of course they were invited in for the first ultrasound. It was neat getting to share that with them! Dr. J did the measurements and checked the heartbeats. He said everything looked perfect and all the parts were there! He said they looked like two perfectly healthy growing babies! I asked him all of my questions and talked with him a bit! He gave us a mile long strand of pictures of our babies. And then the bittersweet moment came...he said that this was out last appointment with him and I would be released to go back to my obgyn. I didn't cry, but boy I wanted too! I have formed relationships with people in the office and they actually put up with me calling a million times a week asking every question under the sun. I will miss them dearly! The good news my doctor's office is not far from them, so I will be making some stops in the say hello. I feel like they are part of our family! I wish Dr. J could have just made an exception and delivered our babies! haha. I am so thankful God gave Dr. J and his staff the knowledge they need to help people achieve their dream of having a baby! It's so surreal as I sit here and write this, I still can not believe that we are pregnant! I wake up every morning and just thank God for what He has done! I am so thankful for God's direction in our lives and for putting His hand on us the entire way! This was God's plan for us all along! I'm so thankful for His voice speaking to our hearts!
The next step...
I am going to call this week and make my appointment with my obgyn Dr. Monterubio at Missouri Baptist. Dr. Wilbois, who was my first obgyn, referred me to him originally. Then Dr. Monterubio referred me to Dr. J. So, I'm headed back to where I started. It is bittersweet, but I like Dr. Monterubio and I know I'm in good hands with him! And pretty much everyone I know goes to him! As a request of Dr. J he also thought it might be a good idea to go see a high risk doctor, Dr. Paul, since I'm carrying twins. So I'm going to call and make an appt. with his office also. I'm excited to go to my first real appt. at a regular obgyn! I can remember all those times going in for my well woman visit and sitting there looking at other pregnant women thinking when will I get to do that? I can't believe it's finally here!!!
