Echocardiography

After passing his ultrasound boards...Jared decided he wanted to specialize in echo cardiograms next. So he signed up for school shortly after deciding and started night class one night a week on Monday at Forrest Park Community College in St. Louis. He is almost finished with this semester and is doing so well! I'm so proud of his work ethic and he is so driven in everything he does! He will start back up in January for his last semester and graduate in May! I wonder what he will decide to do next?...

Enter If You Dare!

   WELCOME TO THE VAMPIRE LAIR!!!

We hosted a Halloween Costume Party for our friends at our house! Jared and I were vampires. We had a blast! We had tons of food, caramel apples, and a candy buffet. Dave Kopp dressed up like a scary scarecrow and sat on our front porch to scare people when they got here. He managed to scare Jessica Osbahr and Beth!  Jordan dressed up like an '80's girl! She looked so cute in her bejeweled jacket! Philip & Jessica dressed up as Top Gun characters, and Beth & Bobby dressed up like hippies...complete with a "cigarette." Trent & Allison came which I was so happy about! She was a flapper girl and Trent was a pimp. Derek Hayes came as a werewolf...hilarious since Jared & I were vampires...Edward or Jacob? Team Edward here!!! Last but not least, Bryce & Adrienne had the best costume of the night. Bryce had made an Iphone 4S costume for Adrienne and it was AWESOME! He came as Icloud.

25th Birthday!

Wow! I'm 25 today!

It's so weird to think that I'm 25. When I tell stories about people, I always say stuff like, "They are old, they're like 26." Well I'm almost there! It seems just like yesterday I was in high school playing volleyball with my friends. Life goes so fast! 30 is right around the corner...eeeeekkkkk!!!

A VERY Memorable Vacation!!!

Cancun, Mexico
July 7, 2011

Our family decided to take a trip to celebrate my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary! Jared asked his parents to go with us on the trip. We all went up and stayed all night Wednesday night near the airport so we would be ready for travel on Thursday morning at 6:15 AM. This was Jared's parents first time flying so they were nervous. My grandparents had flown before but it had been a while. After a short plane ride we were in Cancun...and it was raining. We got our baggage and headed out to meet our shuttle to take us to our resort. We stayed at the Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa. It was all-inclusive and had a lot of entertainment. Needless to say, when we got to the resort we were all ready to check-in and go explore the resort....only to find out the resort was overbooked. Even though we had our vacation planned months in advance. The lady at the front desk told us this happens often in Cancun (this would be our last trip there for sure!) So I got a little heated and asked her what we were supposed to do. They sent us to another resort called Temptations Couples Resort just for the night. I told her the only way we would do that is if they upgraded our rooms the next day when we returned to Jacuzzi suites...which they did! So we all loaded up in the shuttle headed to Temptations. Well let's just say this isn't a place you would want to go with your grandparents and in-laws. The resort was a nude resort....complete with a sexy pool, in which you could perform acts with each other as long as other people didn't mind. Our rooms were very nice...but had a "Sexy Light" that illuminated the room red and the walls were covered in full length mirrors. Needless to say we ate dinner there and rested in our rooms, praying that the night would pass soon.

Early the next morning we all got up and headed back to our resort. Our rooms were ready!!! They were wonderful rooms complete with a jacuzzi tub overlooking the balcony. Boy, was I relieved. AND the sun was shining so bright. We put our stuff in the room and headed out to the ocean! The Ocean was beautiful and more rough than the ocean we experienced in Cozumel. Jared and his dad enjoyed boogie boarding. My Grandpa spent most of his time jumping the waves. Me, Grandma, & Rhonda spent all of our time sun-bathing!!
Jared and I decided to rent a jet ski. So we did that one afternoon. Well I got the bright idea out in the middle of the ocean to switch and let me drive for a while. In the process of switching drivers, we flipped the jet ski. Jared says the look on my face was priceless because I was so scared! I just kept imagining a shark being below me.
What a rush in the airport once again, going through customs and running to the right plane in time! Not to mention my grandpa who got sick the night before we flew out with diarrhea. He was so weak, but managed to run with us through the airport. Run being the key word...our plane was already behind and we had around 25 minutes to go through customs and get to our next plane to St. Louis! Houston airport is massive!!
For the most part, we had a blast! It was so nice to experience a vacation with both of our families! Despite all of the set backs it was worth it!!! Happy 50th to my wonderful Grandparents!!!

Life As We Know It!!

I decided to start this blog to act as my new scrapbook! I got so burned out making scrapbooks for everything and I figured this would be so much easier! Also, It will be neat for our kids, who will grow up in the technology centered world, to have! When we look back on it in a few years we will see how far God has brought us. He has done so much for us already, I can't wait to see what he still has in store for us!

Jared went to radiology school and worked as a x-ray tech at Washington County Memorial Hospital here in Potosi for one year. He then started to train to be an ultrasound tech and just recently passed his ultrasound boards!  Jared is now a registered ultrasound tech at Washington County Memorial Hospital. I'm so proud of him! Jared is so dedicated and wants to pass as many registries as he possibly can! He wears me out! He studied for months for this test and with God's help was able to pass. He loves his job and has been at the hospital for three years now!  He is now looking into studying for a new registry...possibly echo. Let the studying day in and day out begin again!

In October, I will be taking care of Beth and Bobby's baby, Grant. It should be fun and give me some practice!  We know that a baby truly is a gift from God and when it's his timing for us to have a child, we will. But for now, our children are our dogs...Ali & Greta!

We are leaving next Wednesday for CANCUN!! It should be so much fun! We are going to celebrate my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary! Jared's parents have never traveled anywhere, so they are going to be joining us! We are all so excited to be going on this trip together! It will be such a great experience for everyone! Golden Parnassus Adults Only Resort...Here We Come!!

About Me

I first want to start out by telling a little bit about me and how I grew up. I was born on September 15, 1986 around 8:00AM. My mom and dad were only married a short time when I was born and were only married about 2 years before divorcing.

I went to live with my grandparents when I was three years old. That is the only thing I am thankful to my mother for, caring enough to give me a life with my grandparents that she couldn't give. I saw my mother more often until I was thirteen years old. The next time I saw her was my senior year in high school when she came to my graduation. I didn't see or talk to her again until I was 25 years old. I see my dad often, (he lives right up the street).

The best gift I've been given in my life besides my wonderful husband, Jared, was my grandparents. They gave me the absolute best life I could have hoped for. They taught me about God through their example and taking me to Church. I got saved when I was eight years old in my grandparents bedroom after Church. I truly see them as my parents. They are wonderful role models, leaders, and Godly people. I will be forever grateful to them for everything! I would not be who I am today without them.

When I was a junior in high school I lost my little brother, Matthew. Matthew was eleven years old when he died on February 25, 2003. He had Chron's Disease and they believe his heart just gave out. This life experience has shaped who I have become today. I miss Matthew dearly! It's so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that he would be 22 years old this year. I often wonder what he would have grown up to do and if he would be wanting to get married. As I keep getting older, he stays the same in my mind. Just eleven years old. I am forever grateful that I got to share God and the plan of Salvation with him. I am so glad I can rest in the peace that I will see him again in Heaven! He is rejoycing with the Savior right now! I'm so jealous!

I went on after high school and went to college pursuing my bachelors degree in elementary education. I earned my bachelor's degree in May 2009. I got married to Jared Politte on June 6, 2009 and we decided I would stay home and we would try and start a family within a couple years. So I planned on being a stay-at-home mom. I coached volleyball at Kingston High School the first two years of our marriage and had a blast! I met a dear friend, Allison, who I have so much in common with. No matter how long we don't talk or see each other, I know she is just a great friend! I'm so thankful for all of these people and this life I've been given!
